Why I wrote this book.
I wrote this book after years of watching patients and families struggle with a healthcare system that often seems designed to confuse the very people it is supposed to help. That understanding became deeply personal when my mother lost her vision overnight after a stroke to the visual part of her brain. Walking with her through the appointments, referrals, and uncertainty that followed showed me how quickly anyone can be thrown into the medical maze.
This book grew out of both my professional life and that family experience. My goal was not to write for doctors, but for ordinary readers who want clearer footing, better questions, and a stronger sense of control when health suddenly becomes complicated.
